I am a new member in this forum.

I have some doubts to get cleared which are mainly meant for our forum members in india. But others also please do give there comments for my first 3 questions listed below.

I would like to know the experiences of someone in india who has got an unlocked version of iphone 3G from some other country(US or UK). The price set for that in india is sooo costly when we dont have 3G services in india. (By the way am not interested in that.) Whereas in US its 300 dollars which might be around 15K in india.

The main attraction for me in the iphone is its 16GB ipod and such a big touchscreen to browse internet. If we are able to browse internet and use any GSM connection(idea/vodafone etc.) in india through the new iphone, it becomes the ultimate device for me.

So could someone please clarify these doubts for me.

1) How much is iphone 3G prone to defects?
2) How friendly is it in getting connected with laptops through bluetooth?
3) Did you incure any phone related difficulties because of unlocking it, while using any of the GSM connections?
4) Will we be able to browse internet in that like most of the other phones used in india?
5) Could you please comment on the benefits and especially the difficulties you felt for buying the unlocked version of iphone 3G and using it in India?
6) From where can i preferably buy that and get it unlocked, if we have some of our friends in US/UK?
7) What are the expected costs for buying and unlocking it?
