i just got the 3g iphone and want to jailbreak it and they activated it at the store can i still jailbreak it? if i jailbreak it will i still be able to use itunes to get songs and stuff like that or will i have to use the qkpwn to do that?

Why do you want to jailbreak it? The appstore has much better apps, and it is more stable.

i didnt see any that interest me and i want to put backgrounds on and get the nes emulator so will i still be able to use itunes?

Yeah you can still use iTunes, you just can't restore to the present firmware.

okay, I have a different question. Is there any way to prevent incoming SMS text messages from just appearing ont he screen without warning? Ideally, I would like to be notified that a text message has come in and then chooose to open it.

On the home screen, tap Settings. Go to general, then select passcode lock. After you enter a passcode an option will come up that says "show SMS preview". If you select off than when you receive a text it will just display the name of sender and the word text.
